1941 Mauser Banner Police "Eagle L" - 9mm

Here is a nice police Luger. The condition is really astounding. My theory is that it was issued to an official, he liked it and squirrelled it away. He probably acquired a military Luger to use on duty, keeping this one pristine. How else would it stay pristine, being a 1941 issue? It couldn't have been captured upon arrival at the front. I suspect it was confiscated in 1945 after the fall of Germany, still pristine and squirrelled away.

Of course, the interesting features to note are the sear safety, barrel proof on the front sight base, and the "Eagle L" proof.
