Guys,
I have been collecting Lugers for more years than most members have been around. Sunday I ventured into uncharted territory; that is "uncharted for me". What I know about PPK's can be written on a pistol primer. This past Sunday night I was following a gun auction on proxiebid.com and this PPK came up. I studied the pictures on and off for the better part of an hour. The more I looked, the more I fell in love. When this PPK rolled around, I just had to have it. Here are a few pictures that the auction provided. I asked our resident PPK expert here on the forum if this could be factory original chrome. He said that Walther did not chrome or nickel early PPs or PPKs. However in the Blue Book of Gun Values, the author clearly states that early Commercial model were offered in a variety of finishes. It surely looks factory to me. Your thoughts and opinions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Mike |
