Default Last Surviving WW-I Veterans

Hi,

Several news outlets are carrying the story that the last surviving US World War I veteran died on Sunday.

One of 4,734,991 Americans to have served in World War I, Frank Buckles died at the age of 110 Sunday. He had "misrepresented" his age to enter the armed forces when he was 16.

He also served in the merchant marine during World War II, and was held as a prisoner of war by the Japanese in the Philippines.

The CNN online article is here.

There are two documented allied veterans from Great Britain still living according to the WikiPedia article.

Marc
