I inherited a 1939 Luger that is marked with the DWM scrollwork logo. My understanding is that the machinery from the DWM factory was moved to the Mouser factory around 1929. They continued to manufacture Lugars for a few more years using a mix of parts from both factories and mixed markings can be found on lugars dated in the early 1930’s. I would think that by 1939, all the old parts from DWM would have been used up.
The SN is 8685 and all the numbers match, except for the magazine. There are Nazi proof marks stamped on the side of the gun. Can you give me some information on the origin of this lugar? I have attached some photos below |
