1942 Mauser Code 42 #4332n
I got a Code 42 Luger in today and I have a few questions about It. First and foremost is the Plastic grips. They are not the usual plastic you see. When I first saw them I thought they were wood grips that were oil soaked. They appear to be made by making a mold of a pair of wooden grips and filling it with black plastic. Any input would be appreciated. Second, The gun has all matching numbers including the mag. I notice that the two digit numbers all have a strong 3 followed by a weak 2 that is a bit high. Is this normal for 1942 production or is this another rework. the bottom of the mag has the four digit number but no n. The mag also has WaA stamped on it in 2 locations on the aluminum bottom and no markings on the gray steel shell. The big question.... Do I have to put this one away or do I have a really nice shooter. Thank, Lynn |
