Rework Broom Handle

Thanks for the replies so far. jsmith there is no 1920 property mark any where on the pistol which adds to the mystery. No unit marks, bolt serial number is 544 which is the same through out the pistol. Pistol cannot be pushed into battery by hand. I'm mainly a Luger collector but I have a gut feeling this C96 is good. But of course could be wrong. I offered the seller $1500 for it. Is this to much or not enough? I'm stumped on the Nazi proof for the moment after going through all my books. And internet research.
