Silicon impregented, they also protect the pistol (when I drop them or bang them together when carrying them). My ideal, which I have not done yet, is to buy the boxes that stack and I can mark the end, then leave them inside with the bore store. I take my guns out frequently from the gunsafe, as I am conducting research a lot the last 2 years  Ed
