I recently purchased a 1938 S/42 shooter Luger. The magazine that came with the gun had a very light spring and the gun did jam a couple of times during the first 50 rounds. I tried a blued MecGar Magazine which had a stronger spring and the gun cycled and fed perfectly for the next 50 rounds with only one exception. Twice the action cycled completely but did not feed a round. Not knowing the chamber was empty I wound up dry firing the gun twice, which I know is not good for the gun. This error occurred once with each magazine. Am I correct to assume that a stronger magazine spring made by G.T. will probably solve this minor problem?
I was shooting Winchester 115gr. Thanks, Chris |
