According to Still, the observed serial number range of the 1914 Commercial extends to 74275, so Bill's Luger is well within the known range. A 1914 Commercial should also have the unrelieved sear bar, unlike the Basil Police and later 5-digit commericals made in the 20's that have the relieved 1916 patent type sear bar. Obviously, this Luger has had the sear bar modified or replaced.
