Post New Luger

I just bought a Mauser Parabellum that was made in the mid 70's. It's a 4" 9m/m with the Swiss style grip and safety, that came in a raggedy box, with 2 mag.s, a cleaning rod, but was missing the loading tool. It was unfired until today and I gave $800 for it. Was this a fair price in Ca.?
It shot well today (2" @ 25 Yrds. very near P.O.A.), using the same cast load I use in my Hi Power, with no malfunctions. I tried some lighter loads, but they would not reliably cycle every time.
How do these compare with other Lugers? This is my first Luger and I wanted it as a shooter. Thanks.
