John D.'s 'Centerfolds' Holster

I was browsing the thread on a Luger and attendant shoulder holster -

Which showed a US style 'tanker' shoulder holster made for a Luger -



And it reminded me of a Luger and shoulder holster shown in John D.'s 'centerfolds' album, which comes up in the Random Album Pictures on occasion -



John D.'s pic was posted before I became a member here [2008] and I missed any discussion of it.

I'm assuming that it must have stirred some discussion here...Does anyone recall what the general opinion was, at that time???
