If you're substituting the x's for numbers, then the experts here can't tell you what German Army unit that pistol was issued to without the actual numbers.

If they're actual, then there may be other numbers underneath them. (They may be cross-outs).

Or they may be Russian capture crossouts. Are there other x's elsewhere on this Luger???
