Default My 1936 Mauser S/42

I kinda jumped the "gun" on this. These pics aren't the greatest, but stupidly long hours at work plus short days mean I had to snap these indoors under a desk lamp. I plan to do a better shoot in the future but as a new collector I'm really anxious to get your evaluation/comments.

Please note that the proof marks on the receiver side do have halos but they didn't show up in the photo. From my (novice) perspective, this appears to be an "honest" gun; I haven't found any indication that it has been messed with. I'm hoping I'm correct. I did buy it from Simpson and their reputation appears to be pretty good.

I'd be grateful for any interpretations of the various markings on the gun. All numbers match, except the magazine.
