That's a very nice Mauser luger you have. Has it ever been fired before? If it never has I guess it has collector status and should be kept as such. If you have shot it a few times then yes, go ahead and shoot a few more rounds through it, it won't hurt. Just remember to clean it and keep it oiled. I shoot a commercial .30 cal Luger on occasion. A good cleaning followed by wd-40 on all the metal surfaces keeps the bluing fresh even though the gun is over 70 yrs old!
