Yet, I think we all want them to be sucessful!
Luger gunsmiths are rare and highly treasured craftsmen. |

Ok, finaally got my Broomhandle back, beautiful work, I am very happy with it.
I would have been happy with the 2 plus years to get it done if I had been told that up front. Instead I was told about 2 months turn around, then got the run around and some outright lies along the way. This really was not encouraging after paying the full payment up front. Every gunsmith I have ever delt with sends their finished work back and then an invoice. Eugene may be a craftsman but his business style is not very profesional. Can't think of any reason to go back to Lugerman again. John |

This firearm had already been reblued and the berrel lined somewhere in its past. The barrel began to show signs of something wrong when it sterted keyholeing, so I opted to have Lugerman cut off the barrel and weld a new one on. Tried it at the range, it shot very good groups but about 1 foot high at 50 feet. That is another story for the next post. 1896 Mauser (3).jpg 1896 Mauser (2).jpg |

See pics below. I made a mockup of the front sight modification out of black masking tape. I had deturmined it needed to be about .100 inch higher. After verifing at the range I made a steel insert to attach to the front sight with epoxy. And glued it on. Last edited by JohnW...ski; 10-22-2025 at 08:19 AM. |
