i currently have 6 lugers- 3 1936 and 3 interarms
all are matching sets. my q is, should i obtain the expendable, breakable parts--firing pin, extractor, etc. and use one as a shooter? if that costs about as much as just buying a shooter, i won't be surprised. thanks, tom austin

OK, this might sound foolish, but are the 3 and 3 different from each other? If they are close to identical, and if it were me, I'd sell one of each and get a nice shooter plus some extras for the others. If however they are each individual collectibles...please ignore my comments

jonnyc, i'm still learing about the differences and don't really know enough yet to
pick one to sell. I have two .30cal interarms and only 5070 were made. just as others have said," man i had one and just sold it. i wish i had it back......". so i would probably keep what i have for now and consider my original plan...

If your 1936's are collelctable guns, then "swapping" out any breakable parts would be many parts, and I don't see how it is worth it?
If collectable and nice guns and you break a numbered part, you essentially have taken a $1200-$1500 gun and made it shooter status, taking its value to less than half.... BTW how did you end up with 3 1936's? Ed

ed, i've got my ear to the ground. i don't know why i took a
fancy initially, but i sure do like that year. i keep hearing how the quality began to decline in subsequent years and i felt that would be a solid year to collect. if i am wrong, please bring me up to date.
i do want to get a shooter but am in no particular hurry. i really enjoy your work and your comments. tom |

What kind of variation do you have between 3 1936 Lugers?
