The German word "Feuer" means "Fire"
Unlike a standard P-08 which is safe with the safety lever in the lower position, the grip safety models such as this one are safe when the lever is in the upper position. Thus, the exposed word in the (lower) shooting position for this commercial Kriefhoff is FEUER, and shows a RED dot. I do not remember ever seeing this particular marking either.
Definitely take the time to investigate the other pages at this site. There are some very interesting firearms and the photos are superb. One special gun going up for auction is a Borchardt that was once owned by Buffalo "Wild Bill" Cody that is complete with all accessories valued at 50,000 marks.
