Install barrel, apply for tax stamp, get approved then get suppresser. Problem with a suppresser is it will close range as the low profile sights on the luger will not be usable.

Not necessary...the gun is legal as long as you don't have the silencer. Buy the gun, the apply for the silencer license!

Turn around time on a Form 4 transfer is about 10 months these days. Just do it, then go on with your life and eventually your paperwork clears.

Kinda hit & miss on finding a reliable 50 rd drum magazine, some work and some don't by the same manuf, and no make is more reliable than the other! You can get a dummy with the kit that holds 10 rounds.

Nice, they even have an Thompson "squad leader" which is the one I would go with. I actually have a nice M1 carbine stock conversion on my 10/22 right now.

A silenced luger will be much more quiet even with it's action. You would want to run 147gr bullets or suppresser specific 124gr.

And no, suppressers don't quiet it down to just "Phvvvt" like the movies, and they don't sound anything like that. There are some silenced sub guns and carbines, like the .45 ACP DeLisle carbine for picking off sentries in WWII, and the sterling Mk5 where literally all you hear is the action working.

Hey Hugh...I got one of those too! But they ran out of the finned barrel before I got mine ordered so I am still waiting around to dress it up. They haven't had the finned barrel for quite some time.

Black Dog Machine makes the best drums out there, IMHO.

They run pretty much flawlessly in .22 converted M16s on full auto.

I don't know in the States but here in Italy the use/purchase of a silencer is strictly prohibited, not long ago I seem to remember reading about a home made silencer sort of thing made with car oil filters.

How is your Luger shooting going on?

I think this is the threaded Luger barrel you're referring to...[pic attached]...Guy on GB sells them...You would still need a ~3" 'shield' for the small drain-back holes in the filters...

I doubt any Luger 'silencer' that cycles the action (even if subsonic) would be very effective...
