Hello folks,
Question about the finish on my Mauser parabellum. I was under the impression that rust bluing was not used on the pistols. Perhaps I am confused, but when held in the direct sunlight, the bluing appears to be a reddish/brown. Is this salt blue or what? Thanks to all for input. Pitsword |

Yep, it's a salt dip blue that Mauser used during those days.
Rust blueing is way too labour intensive and therefore too expensive. |

Hello Gerben,
Thanks for the information. Never realized that Salt blue would have that rust/brown tinge. You folks on this board are the greatest. Best to all, Pitsword |
