I have an artillery sight that is packed in cosmoline
grease. What is the best way to remove the grease? Would something like gasoline work? Ray |

Gasoline, an old tooth brush or small paint brush, and no sparks or cigarettes in the area.

Thanks Guys,
I first tried the lacquer thinner method and a small brush. That worked fine. Ray |

I bought the fine tune sight with Erfurt proofs from a guy in
the UK. Whatever the grease, it was pretty dried up. I'm guessing it was casmoline (or is that only a USA product). No idea how the guy in the UK got the sight originally. The blueing is perfect. |
