Gents:
A fellow just sent me pictures of a vet. bring-back, a very nice but average 42 code 1940 model, with good holster and apparently matching except clip. Some bullet damage to the base of the barrel/front of the receiver. Now without pictures and details I understand that no one will go out on a limb regarding value, so my question is this: All else being equal, does the serial number of 3 (a?) significantly help its value? & yes some folks like single digit guns, I have a 3 digit and thats kinda cool, but in reality, yours is 10003 (3a) Ed

no, everything depends on what the front suffix is of the luger (or no suffix).
Yes, some folks might pay more, but we aren't talking a large bump in value. Odd variations of proofs or acceptance gets most folks more excited IMHO. Ed
