Can you tell me if the "m" block byf 42's command any premium in value over the standard byf 42's? As a follow-up, are they worth less because they did not see service in the German military?
Thanks |

Hi John,
I'm really not the guy to be answering your question but, it's my understanding that due to the scarcity of Portugese byf 42s. They do bring a premium over German Military byf 42s. I'm not certain by how much. They seem to be sought after by Mauser Luger collectors. Ron

John, These were standard BYF PO8s, so even though given to Portugal, unless thay have some Portugese proofing (quite ofter rebarrel over the years) and with a nice M43 Portugese holster, I doubt that they would sell for any more that a compartable condition earlier German military BYF. Also remember that about half of the M & N suffix 42s were sent to Bulgaria. TH
