Default 1st Post....Question on "Sorta Luger" Related Pistol

Guys,

This is my first post on this forum and I have a rather embarrasing question to ask.

Several nights ago an aging neighbor gave me a mint, matched DWM 1916 P08 with "Germany" stamped on the takedown lever. I am assuming this means it was German military, but, was exported after the war in order to raise some badly needed funding. The wooden-bottom mag was also in excellent shape.

But, the real question is...

I also received a very "weird" pistol which has clear traits of the Luger, Mauser C/96, and the Bergmann. Caliber appears to be .30 Luger, but, I have not made a chamber cast yet to fully determine this. Workmanship is superb with no machine marks, etc, visible. Bluing also appears to be original and has that nice light blue color which looks so good.

Where in this forum is it appropriate to post a complete description of this pistol along with a photo? As it is clearly NOT a Luger, I do not wish to violate any forum rules and for this reason ask your help. Due to design characteristics it seems to best fit into the 1898-1910 timeframe for manufacture.

Thanks!

The Tom
