1st Post....Question on "Sorta Luger" Related Pistol
Guys,
This is my first post on this forum and I have a rather embarrasing question to ask. Several nights ago an aging neighbor gave me a mint, matched DWM 1916 P08 with "Germany" stamped on the takedown lever. I am assuming this means it was German military, but, was exported after the war in order to raise some badly needed funding. The wooden-bottom mag was also in excellent shape. But, the real question is... I also received a very "weird" pistol which has clear traits of the Luger, Mauser C/96, and the Bergmann. Caliber appears to be .30 Luger, but, I have not made a chamber cast yet to fully determine this. Workmanship is superb with no machine marks, etc, visible. Bluing also appears to be original and has that nice light blue color which looks so good. Where in this forum is it appropriate to post a complete description of this pistol along with a photo? As it is clearly NOT a Luger, I do not wish to violate any forum rules and for this reason ask your help. Due to design characteristics it seems to best fit into the 1898-1910 timeframe for manufacture. Thanks! The Tom |
Tom, try the thread "off topic and other firearms".

Tom, welcome to the Lugerforum.
The best place to discuss this would be the "Off Topic and Other Firearms" Forum... (seems like Herb and I were composing our responses at the same time) If you need any help posting the photos, there is a fine photo tutorial at the top of the Site help and feedback Forum. I am intriqued by your description of the wierd pistol... I look forward to seeing it AND your new Luger. |
Thanks!
The information is now posted on the other board.
