Thought I would show the just for fun part of collecting. This is the 1937/S42 made up Navy shooter that I bought from Richie Shavel awhile back. I found and won the grips on ebay. Required alittle fitting, but they turned out pretty nice. I love stag grips, and they are getting scarce and expensive. Since the import ban.
Stag grips really add a taste of old world flavor to a classic pistol, in my opinion. The holster is one of Jerry Burney's custom built Navy type II's. And shows what a genuine craftsman Jerry truly is. It's difficult to distinguish it from original. Other than the new condition. Ron ![]() ![]()

Nice set there Ron!
Stag does sound manly, is manly, and darn it, feels manly (ok I'll end off there). You did better than I did with ebay grip purchases, got some "chainsaw checkering tool" specials that also chipped a big chunk off right behind the safety, first time out shooting. Your grips look a little more durable... Frank H. |

Frank, I have always like Stag grips. Have had several pair on different pistols over the years. I wish I had them all back now that a nice set sells for around $200+ and rising. I scored these for $60. Good deal!
You picked the right time to move to Oregon. It's been raining pitchforks and hammer handles since Sunday. Welcome to Oregon, land of the pontoon!! ![]()
