Here's a nice clean representative example of the 42 code, 1940 production. Nothing exotic or out of the ordinary, with some finish wear.
Serial number 6808g, magazine not matching, 5110f, e/37, 122.

![]() ![]() Still, "Third Reich Lugers", page 125, identifies the magazine as a Type 3 Army. "These magazines were issued with late 1939, 1940 dated and 41-42 code, and the very first 41-byf Lugers."
