1940. 42 Code

Here's a nice clean representative example of the 42 code, 1940 production. Nothing exotic or out of the ordinary, with some finish wear.
Serial number 6808g, magazine not matching, 5110f, e/37, 122.

Francis,
Pretty nice, I had no idea that that "the Radom Man" was "the Luger Guy"
Cheers,
Jason
P.S. I am unsure of pinned 122 code mags with the E /37 proofs, I was unaware of these...

:) Jason, I do stray sometimes from the 'Radom' quest. Over the years, have put away a few Lugers.

Still, "Third Reich Lugers", page 125, identifies the magazine as a Type 3 Army. "These magazines were issued with late 1939, 1940 dated and 41-42 code, and the very first 41-byf Lugers."

Thanks Francis I should know that. I didnt pull out my book :rtfm: and my examples all have type 2.
Cheers,
Jason
