Would it be pratical to have a navy sight on a luger with a 4" barrel? I just think the navy sight enhances the overall appearance of a luger dramatically. Just a thought.

Cui prodest? Only for aesthetics reasons one could replace the original stocks with rubber grips, I think it's only a matter of personal tastes, possibly not on a rare collectible Luger ...

Brien, I'm afraid that doing so would make for a very inaccurate shooter, as the apeature of the two position Navy type rear sight is much higher than a standard PO8 and the normal 6" navy barrel has an elevated front sight base to compensate. If you wish to try it anyway, I do have new repro, cast, blued Navy rear sight assemblies in stock @$400 + $10 S&H. I also have a very tall repro front sight blade @$25 which should compensate for the higher rear sight. TH

![]() There were some in such a config made after WWI for the Navy. Many used a cut 6" bbl with the front sight relocated, these have a "fat" barrel look; others used a 4" barrel. I built a clone. Like Tom says, it does shoot high, but then so does my 6" original Navy luger. ![]() Here is what an original shortened barrel with re-located sight looks like.

Thanks guys, I just thought it would look cool. Tom, I keep that sight in mind if I get the parts to make a franken luger like that. I didn't think about the height difference throwing aim off. Learn something new every day.
