Jim Solomon was given a difficult task. I had original grips on a 1926 Simson - someone had messed with them, trying to make them better, but really screwed them up.
This 1926 Simson was in Ralph Shattucks collection, and he had never had them restored, or the gun ![]() I have eleven 1926 dated Simsons in my database, out of 628 records. Of those 11 - 3 I do not believe were originally 1926 (all out of range, too early or too high serial numbers). The decision was, try to bring them back to original look or leave as is? I decided to send them to Jim and he did an outstanding job, really brought them to life without making them look too new (I was very picky and I think he almost sent them back!) See for yourself ![]()
