Finally got around to taking a pic of this one. It is your basic byf42, but what is the purpose of the "3" on the back? I looked in some of my reference books, but could not find anything.

I think we should all post the numbers on the back of the toggles.

1916 / 1920 Weimar Police K below the serial number

Doug, Generally numbers stamped in this location are "Rack" numbers. This allowed the company ordnance personel to account for their inventory, without requiring them to remove from a storage rack, to check the serial numbers. This is much more common on preWW1 lugers, than on WW2 issuse, but some practices just never die. Th
