Would a 1918 Erfurt have a proof...
Hi All,
Would a 1981 Erfurt have a proof mark on the other end of the "Magazine Catch"? To avoid confusion, I have attached a picture of my 1913 Erfurt to show the part, I am asking about. My 1913, of course, is marked; but, I am not sure that an Erfurt in 1918 would necessarily but marked. Thanks, Richard |

Thanks for the quick response. Now I know better how to appraise a luger I am eye-balling.
BTW, what is that medal you have as your avatar? |

It's the current day German Army Troop Duty Proficiency Badge in gold (highest level). Not easy to get especially when you're over 50 as I was. It involves a timed sprint,3k run, and 200 meter swim, a long jump and shot-put for distance, a 25 meter pistol shoot and finaly a timed 25k road march with about a 35 pound rucksack. Not a walk in the park for sure.
