Would a 1918 Erfurt have a proof...

Hi All,

Would a 1981 Erfurt have a proof mark on the other end of the "Magazine Catch"?

To avoid confusion, I have attached a picture of my 1913 Erfurt to show the part, I am asking about.

My 1913, of course, is marked; but, I am not sure that an Erfurt in 1918 would necessarily but marked.

Thanks,
Richard

By 1918 most magazine releases do not have a proof marking

Thanks for the quick response. Now I know better how to appraise a luger I am eye-balling.

BTW, what is that medal you have as your avatar?

It's the current day German Army Troop Duty Proficiency Badge in gold (highest level). Not easy to get especially when you're over 50 as I was. It involves a timed sprint,3k run, and 200 meter swim, a long jump and shot-put for distance, a 25 meter pistol shoot and finaly a timed 25k road march with about a 35 pound rucksack. Not a walk in the park for sure.
