I like the older S&W revolvers as much as I do Lugers. The Model 1917 and its Brazilian counterpart are a joy to shoot and extremely accurate too. The pre-1898 pistols here in the US are getting scarcer because they can be bought without a license. Many of the quality revolvers, Colt and S&W, can be shot using light loads of smokeless powder. There are resources on the net that give these light loads.
