"Mauser Bump"?

What exactly is the "Mauser Bump" I have read about? Can someone post a pic?

The bump is a reinforcement at the rear of the barrel group.

1936 no bump 1937 bump.

Hi:

That little Mauser improvements was (as I believe and have read) there to keep the toggel link pin from falling out or sticking on the frame upon firing.

Also, the "bump" was an african american dance popular in the mid 1970, for those of you in school at the time!

I read T&J Simson book....so the toggle pin could fall out from Simson if I remembered right. Not convinient to access DWM sample at this moment.... I assume no such an issue on DWM (?) How could a big problem like this go more than 30 years without being fixed and waiting Mauser to fix it in mid 1930s? Or were there something else changed post WWI that caused this "new" problem?

Just tried on a DWM 1920. There is no chance the pin could fall out... it's marginal though, depends on very precise machining.

Here is the pix, the receiver (barrel extension) reached its rearest position.
