I'd say chrome and actually newer than older, unless they shined up the chrome!

Wonder if this is one of those Chinese knock-offs, they have that kind of jibberrish on them sometimes.
Anyway, I heard that somebody walked around with a plated Broomhandle at the Sparta gun show last weekend, trying to sell it for $400. I assume that this is the same guy, it's the same handle he used on GOC. I never got to see him or the pistol, but it ought to be pretty darn bad if he didn't get any takers at that price. |

Possibly, a little bit.
Wish I could see what the inscription is on the right side. Looks like part of it might be CCCP. Now if it just had crossed rifles, that would cinch it.
