Obvious restoration?

Sure, it is a rebuild. Can't call it a restoration since it never left DWM that way. Rebarreled to 7.65mm, Crown/N breechblock, LOADED extractor...all on a military gun. It is not, as they state, original blue, but it is a darned nice reblue.

1918 is not original, it's a modern restamp.

oh, and grips are Italian repros.

The only good parts of the gun are LOAD extractor and nice nickel mag, that has a bad repro wood bottom on it, by the way.

Agreed, the font and look of the date is wrong. The magazine's wooden base is also a home workshop item. Look at the extremely poor fit to the magazine's metal body.

We noticed the misaligned witness marks and atypical lengthwise orientation of ser # on bbl. Thanks Eugene, for an explanation of why the grips fit so crappy. The checkering looks coarser than average, like Dutch?

Over the years I have seen so meany bad grips, i almost always have a copy of any bad set i see in my crap box.

same with this, they are Italian if the have two holes on the back, or Indian if they are more in to red color.

Wrong direction of the numbers on the barrel, can be from Finn or Swiss rework, and actually Kreghoff and I think Simpson did that as well.

But in this case the font of the numbers on the barrel is the same as an incorrect 1918 = modern numbers.

This gun is a project gun, that can be turned in to a Baby or Carbine, or just keep it as a shooter.
But the price for a it is max of $600, any more and you need to look away from the light ;0)

For shooting fun in range, this one's ammo is not cheap. Probably bidders reload at home.

When the barrel was re-installed, why didn't the owner install a 9mm barrel on it? that's a mistake.

Also just noticed that it has a blank toggle. Some thngs elude me at first look. Really an odd mixture of parts and markings.
