=== Back from a gun show. Unbelievable amount of people. Waiting entrance took one hour. |

Postie, that's THE question. What can I trade in? I thought about that briefly. I could not trade in one C96 for another C96. I'd like to trade in my Interarms P1, but no one wants it, value is too far away and I had no cash.
I traded in the Simson that I acquired from Russ. Why? value is close enough, seller did not object a rare Luger, and it's the ONLY military Luger I had. It's impossible for me to setup another military Luger collection financially, and a single rare and nice one in my hand is a little bit waste of resource. So.... ==== Another side of the question, why traded for this particular one? I don't know. I didn't have a Late Shallow Milled, and it looked nice. I will keep my two commercial Lugers though. More and more behaves like a real collector? well,,,,at least more concentrated.... |

I need some help on "K" from you guys!
The grip panels are number "K 33009". The number is easy to understand. But what's the meaning of "K"? Pix will be posted shortly after battery charging... |

Were hard rubber grips standard on Mauser C96, or put on by US importer??? (Or maybe by Mauser for importer???) Pics of grips & tangent sight would be nice... BTW: Sales records for this company appear to be available...for a price... http://www.griffinhowe.com/research-main.cfm Edit: "The serial number that you entered (33009) is recorded in the Record Books." Woohoo!!!

Missed the sight leaf that you wanted. Here it is. Standard sight leaf numbered to the gun.

Guns with hard rubber grips are not very rare. I have seen quite a few. The most famous one probably was the s/n 21138 flatside on Zhuk's famous book's cover (I saw that gun on book cover, so I bought a copy. Nice book, nice drawing, indeed).
Fitting is perfect. |

Postie -- The interleaved letters inside that shield are "WM". That's standard business.

Hi, Jack. Regarding picture posting, there is a button below the text window, "Go Advanced", click on that button and you will see "Manage Attachments", click it and you can load pictures.
I saw a few MM-31s posted by a gun lover in China. He saved those guns from dumping into blast furnace back a few years ago and setup a museum. His guns went though tough history in the past and were not in great shape anymore. But, for their rareness nowadays, that does not matter. |

Postie, the guy also showed a Chinese made Schnellfeuer. I will find his pictures.
It's amazingly well done by "Made By The Arm Reparation Facility of Department of Army". If it's not so marked, I would believe it's a Mauser. The guy did not show the internal pictures though. So, it might be a gun assembled from Mauser parts. Here is the thought: (1) Chinese Nationalist Army bought tens of thousand Mauser pistols in 1930s, those were new guns at that time, it's hard to believe no parts were imported along with those guns. Even A. F. Stoeger's small Mauser inventory had many parts available in their advertisement; (2) Why there was a big leap forward in quality between those 1920's copies and 1930's copies? (3) Serial number over 30 thousand on the instance. It's so hard to believe an arm repairing facility could make tens of thousands Schnellfeuer copies. Will find pictures...... |

Found them. Please take a look. Is this Mauser, or a copy?
According to him, unlike other Schnells that he has, this one's s/n, 35626, is stamped under the barrel. |
