All the written information that I have come across says that the Tokarev ammo is too hot for a Mauser. A couple of people have posted on this forum that they destroyed their Mausers by using it. I have not shot any myself so I do not know from first hand experience and do not intend to get any either. I gave up on finding Mauser ammo locally and reload my own from Starline brass. Search for previous posts on loading and such. There is also a website

I have also heard of bad expeiences with surplus Mauser ammo from eastern Europe but again have no first hand knowledge or experience with it.
