I haven't looked at their web site for a while, but I believe Brownell's carries a special jig for staking original type M1911A1 front sights... They have to be staked exactly right (or silver soldered) or the WILL work themselves loose. I had made one a couple of decades ago when actively gunsmithing and shooting 1911's, but lost it somewhere along the way... One staked in place, then the inside of the slide is smoothed up to make sure there is no interference with the barrel bushing.
