No, as you noted, they are cosmetic. I was going for the profile of a carbine.

If it was all sorted out with a specific load/bullet/recoil spring, it should function normally. And in theory, the bullet should have left the barrel before the cannon recoils, so (again in theory) whether you still have your hand on it or not wouldn't matter.

I'm big on theory.
