Gortz & Sturgess has a reference to the matter and coincides in identifying 2 examples marked "Ejercito Mexicano" on the left side, marking probably made in Mexico SNs 12880 & 12888 ( pages 878 & 881). 12880 is pictured and photo identified courtesy of Robert Simpson.. Apparently the contract was never signed. I would guess that a small batch of about 50 examples for trials was probably purchased around 1903/1905 for evaluation. I am very much on the lookout for hese pistols in local collections.
