It appears that the unusual bluing, etc. might relate to the fact that the gun (which several people on lugerforum.com concluded last year was an authentic test gun) was re-worked at some time because of the fact that it has as set of numbered parts which are different including the grips but they are matching unto themselves. And that at the time that work was done some other minor things were done, too. The inside all looks good and no signs of bluing in there. Apparently some of the test guns group have a small set of parts which are similar to mine as that they are a set unto themselves. That's the best that we can determine at this point.
