"This is where the story gets embarassing.I can't get it back together...and to make matters even worse..I can't take it apart again because something on the inside won't allow me to remove the slide again."

Besides wrongly installed coupling, what else could cause this? The floor is probably too tight to be removed, and the barrel jams on follower...... Unlikely, he saw the s/n on frame, so it was stripped successfully at least once.....

Could think any other reason? The gun finish looks healthy.
