Gee, I guess the guy had time off, but he just swung on into use the company dumpster and say hey.
I showed him the thread, and the link to the ones for sale, and he\'s very thankful and asked me to tell you guys so.
Although he was curious, he really is more of an accumulator vs. a collector....a shame.
I collect military rifles from WW2 and newer, so I\'ve actually learned a bit while trying to find out stuff about these for him, and who knows, I may try to get in on the action.
He says that that lady has more guns, and there is a p08 or something along those lines still to be had.
He says the lady is 82 years old, her husband was a Marine, as he also was, and that little common bond is what facililtated this little deal.
There are over 30 firearms and a safe involved.
I asked what the other 3 guns were from this deal, and he said that for $560 he got the luger,a S&W chiefs model 40 semi, he *thinks* a cat 9 9mm semi, and a high standard 22lr revolver....like I said, he\'s an accumulater, and doesn\'t really pay all that much attention to what he has.
As a side note, I stumbled upon Guns and Ammo tv after work this morning, and they had a little segment on a luger.
The luger was an all-matching WW1 gun, with a stock serial numbered to the gun, and a drum mag.
They were shooting at a target 150yards away, and had moderate success with hitting it, pretty damn fine for pistol shooting.
They said the gun was valued at $3,500 , and the stock about $1,500.
I see myself developing an interest...
