David, I like to know the price of everything. Just a failing of my human nature I suppose.
This was a job I tried to keep reasonable as I do for all my clients. Complete holster restoration such as this is not cheap and is mostly reserved for rare and valuble holsters. It does not pay to do it for your average 50 dollar beater.
This one was $185.00 Plus return shipping as I recall.
A holster in this condition it is essentially worth very little. Because of it's extreme rarity I value this 1910 unit marked Luger holster now matched to the same unit pistol at $500.00 The restoration added value to the holster itself and consequently, to the pistol as well forming a pair, that because of each other being joined, creates a higher value.
There is an interesting story the buyer told me I am sure he would not mind if I shared.
George Anderson came by this rare Cavalry holster. He remembered a member who had posted some time ago, years? the pistol from the same unit. He contacted Bill Drew and sure enough Bill still had this pistol. George was kind enough to sell Bill this holster. You can see the end result...Jerry Burney
