has any one necked 9mm (9x19) case to 7,65.

Here in finland we do have endles supply of 9MM case

7,65 luger case is a rarity.

I`m gouing to do this, if somebody does have

experience please tell me.

I have no first hand knowledge on this but I believe that the 7.65 case is longer than the 9 x 19 case and you would need to start with something like the 9mm Bayard or 9 x 23 and form the case to 7.65 and then trim to get the proper finished length. My 2 cents. David. any experts out there.

David and Rick are right! The 9mm was purposes shorten so that the overall lengths would be the same to work in the mechanism, mag, etc. Lots of times a shorter cartridge will cause jamming. Good luck! And if you do this make sure you get the right expander plug, some of the 30 Lugers (RCBS and LEE) came with a setup for a .310" bullet and the available Hornady bullets are .308" and bullet setback was a problem, Lee came to my rescue and got me the right expander plug, and now I am in business. RCBS just ignored me! Ted

Now - see the difference? While mine was "concise" - frankly - yours was a WHOLE LOT more interesting to read. Hi esko! Sounds like a very interesting project, I think everyone here is quite anxious to see how your Luger wildcat feeds and functions! Also it will be interesting to see if any potential high pressures signs result from your loadings? (as in, searching for enough energy to cycle the toggle) perhaps you can shim the rear spine of the mag. setting the cartridge further ahead to reduce the risk of feeding malfunctions and to reduce the distance the breech block has to travel for function! All in all, I think it is one of the more interesting luger modifications I have ever heard of! Good luck! till...later.....G.T.

GT, this project does seem to have some merit, many thousands of 9mm cases out there! 30 Luger is expensive. Perhaps a longer/heavier bullet would make the functioning problem go away, it would be longer so the overall length could be the same, the heavier bullet might increase recoil affect. A cast bullet sized at .310" would seem idea, perhaps a 100-110 grain loading. Ted
