Unknown Luger mag?
 

Hello, I�´m new here in this forum. I have collected Lugers for several years, as well as brooms.
During my collectors life, I have seen many things, I can easily recognize items as original or not - on the other hand I�´m still suspicious.
So with this parkerized Luger magazine:

- extruded body
- alu cast bottom
- steel casted follower
- dot with concentic circels

Pisto, The mag that you describe (I presume that the dot with the concentric circles, is the follower button) is a post WW2 Danish production. Quite often the bottoms are marked "made in Denmark" and if not, there is always a slight flaw in the casting. Tom H.

Now just one more correction now that we can see the magazine... it is not extruded (like an FXO magazine) it is formed sheet metal... if that makes any difference in the determination of the mag type...

Can you show a photo of the dot with concentric circles now that you know how to post them?

If not marked "Denmark" think Portugal in 1940, a few Lugers went with blue bodies. The portuguese "parkerized' a bunch of these magazines along with many of the P 08's (42-byf). I have a couple that came from Portugal via Canada. Also a "parkerized" looking 1940-42 in the - z - block with a "parkerized" looking rolled tin matching magazine. I would like to think my 1940-42 and your "parkerized" looking magazines were Mauser "experimental" units. Wishful thinking, but don't have a concrete answer. Good Luck

Don, thats really interesting and makes my mag more desirable! I don�´t know why, but I thought of Portugal too, because I did here some day that they used parkerized mags. By the way, I got that from a buddy in Canada too. So I hope I can see a Denmark mag one day to compare.

Roland, You already have the Danish mag as shown in your photo above. The only mags that I've seen that were correct for the late 42/BYF m&n suffix Portugese PO8s, were blued extruded Schmeisser FXO mags, usually with unnumbered aluminum bottoms and with the serial number later engraved on the spine.
