Can anyone translate this

tag? It is in a jacket that appears to be made of gray leather(?) with a maroon colored faux fur collar. The sleeves of the jacket also have zippers made of plastic.

Could this possibly be a pilots jacket? there was an eagle with flowing wings that appeared to be sewn to the front right side at one time. Also with the jacket was an Iron Cross dated 1939. These items belong to a friend at work. He also has some capture papers for a Luger that I am supposed to get a copy of. Thanks for any help on this.

Ger¤t means "tool", so possibly this means "Lot No. or Machine No." clearly some form of batching info, and Hersteller means "manufacturer" so the meaning of this is obvious. And Gr¶?e means "size"

So you have a label with a Manufacturer and Lot No.and size information. I'd be interested if anyone else can add something.

Gruss Gott,Steve!

Dok is right on the money with his translation

of this piece.I don't know how to put in umlauts

on my Webtv equipment so I have to settle for the

affected letter followed by a "e" to fake the the

switch.

Werk NR probably refers to the english equivilent

- work order #.

Hersteller is as Dok said, the manufaturerer,

and also included is the "Reichsbuero NR" or

purchasing order authorization code for this

particular line of production.

The eagle with "long flowing wings" ,as I believe you described it is indeed the symbol of the

Luftwaffe (German-NAZI air force).I wear a Luftwaffe

pilot's ring on a daily basis.Hope this is of some

modest help.

Tschuss! Mark
