I just did the stock, the luger is an old rework
from the 1990´s by a gunsmith from Germany.
I bought the gun some weeks ago on egun .

are they easy to buy in germany? i do not see them in the usa.

They came with this luger.

I like it a lot, and bet that it is a real good shooter. It is such a shame that we can't have something like that without all of the hassle and paperwork, but it is what it is. It is much worse in other parts of this World.

Hi Bill,

Here is a pic of the rear sight.

I am not happy with it, because it is a design to shoot
without the stock. I think I will put a tang sight on it with
a small hole ( about 1.5 mm), then it will work
perfect with the stock. Otherwise a reddot would be nice too .

The finish of the luger is sand blasted and chromed.

The stock is made out of 7075 alloy and just polished.

Is your stock actually gripping the lanyard loop or does it merely slide over it for support?

have you had any problems with the rear sight loosening up ? is it anchored only with the set screw ? or soldered or pinned etc ?

I suspect a red dot on the same location would not survive very long

any reason why the sideplate is not also chromed ?

The stock just slides into the lanyard Loop, just to
support it.

There is no Problem with the rear sight it is secured
with the bolt and some green loctite.It fit´s very tight
into a cut out area in front of the original rear sight.

I also have a chromed sideplate for the luger, but
I just like it better with the black one.

I think that this is truly inspired. Beautiful work and concept.

how did you machine the inset toggle area for the bottom side rear sight base ? usually these rear toggles are very hardened and resist typical machining efforts

how deep did you machine the base area into the toggle ? great idea I dont recall seeing anywhere else

I can see where the inset area for the base would help a lot to handle the rearward setback forces and apparently the bolt is high strength to handle the vertical setback when the rear toggle ears contact the frame - and apparently remaining toggle flat is thick enough to survive ok

maybe on your setup the toggle slap onto rear frame is mild or toggle stop occurs with the compressed spring ?

does your custom barrel weight require any handloading special ammo ?

I use 124 grs Hornady RN and 4.8 grs. 3N37, works good
on this luger. The gentleman who sold me this luger
had good experience with geco 124 grs. ammo.

In our days it is possible to cut hardend steel up to 60 HRc.
You need a good endmill and a rigid machine tool.
To cut hard steel "Kobelco" -Tools work really well.

I am operating a Mori Seiki milling machine to cut hard steel.
The stock was made on a Fanuc Robomill.
