1900 AE Triggers

Hi

Were WWII P08 triggers different than the triggers that were on the 1900 AE?

I picked up a 1900 AE that did not have a trigger or trigger plate. A P08 trigger plate fits OK but the P08 triggers do not fit in the trigger well. The forward part of the trigger that the trigger lever fits is too long and prevents the trigger from going into the well.

the plate and the trigger would be different

There were two different receiver lengths. The 1900 was a couple of millimeters longer at the front of the receiver than the later P.08 models...

...but the frame length difference is entirely in front of the trigger guard, and has no effect on the trigger/sidepate difference.

1900 AE triggers are somewhat narrower than the standard P08.

Hi

Thank you all for responding. I checked the trigger plate again and discovered I miss aligned it. The P08 does not fit this frame.

Here's a quick look at the longer frame, wider trigger guard, and narrower trigger of a 00AE compared to one P08.

Russell, your link to PhotoBucket is not visible to the majority of members of this Forum. Corporate and government filters block YouTube, PhotoBucket, SmugMug and other similar social web sites (not to mention many popular pr0n sites!)

(I also found out recently that my local library has restrictions of viewable material.) :(

Could you please attach any pics you wish to display directly to the LugerForum thread?

We all thank you! :)

Aldo,

Your first post was accurate. The trigger does not fit because the flat surface in front is too long. It may be possible to modify a P-08 trigger to fit a 1900. The side plate by itself is virtually identical and interchangable but the trigger lever on the P-08 is longer, preventing installation. It should be possible to use a P-08 sideplate in a 1900 with a shortened trigger lever. Post pics of your 1900 when you can.

Pictures of 1900 AE

Hi,

I am attempting to post some pictures. If successful you will see an engraved 1900 AE that was chrome plated. Wen I picked it up it did not have wood grips, grip screws, grip safety or mag. It still need trigger, trigger spring, trigger plate and an extractor. So it is a work in progress.

This is the same pistol that was advertised on the forum back in Feb/Mar time frame. If I can find that thread I will post info.

1900 ae

Hi,

This pistol was originally offered on 1-21-2013 in the want to sell section by Capt Willard. If you go to that date in the for sale section you will see some better pictures of this pistol.

I hope to find all the missing parts and a cure for the lack of a front sight and have my self a fun shooter.

the front sight appears to be missing the sight block also. i think this was soldered to the barrel band.

No, originals were part of the barrel turning. This one has been irrepairably damaged.
